Candidates accepted into the NDA will undergo a rigorous five-year program that combines military and academic training. This isn't your typical academic school experience.

Upon completion of this training, cadets will not only obtain an honours degree in a core discipline (BSc, BEng, BA) but will also receive a distinguished Presidential Commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.


Admission Requirements
The NDA has a selective process in which it recruits the most promising prospect. The following are the requirements a prospective candidate must have:

Academic requirement
Candidates must possess at least five credit passes in the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or National Examination Council (NECO). However, it must be a relevant subject to the preferred course of study. This may include the English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and relevant social science, or art subjects.

Age limit and medical fitness
The applicants must be at least 17 years old and the most 21 years old at the period of the application. A rigorous medical assessment to ascertain the applicants are physically and medically fit and suitable for the service will be conducted.

JAMB Requirements
To gain admission into NDA, a candidate is expected to score above the JAMB cut-off mark, which varies depending on the course. This is typically between 180 and 210.



The candidates who meet the above criteria provided by the NDA are then recruited for an entrance exam. They also have to undergo an interview which will be conducted by the officials of the NDA Selection Board.
